Just wanted to thank you again. I struggle with the same issue. Your ideas are straight forward and the way you present your recipes and ideas are easy to follow with just the right amount of photos and the ingredient list and directions available without going through 20 photos or to other pages. :-)

Thank you for this, Lisa. I didn't know there was a service in which you would do your own shopping! That is so useful. And refreshing to the daily eating task. I will be telling others! I was surprised that diabetic diet includes no grains. I always thought they were eaten in combination with other things. Live and learn.

I love this because little thinking is involved, it's customizable, easy to automate and I actually like to do my own shopping (most of the time ;-) )

I would like the recipe for your "header" picture of this blog with the fresh baby spinach sprinkled with cheese in the baking dish. Nice picture and it would have been nice to have an accompanying recipe.

I'd love to get some new recipe ideas but I fear my husband and I have too many food restrictions to really make this worth the money... I'm Low FODMAP, he's allergic to tree nuts and shellfish, and doesn't like fish (otherwise I'd make fish a lot more often). But maybe I'll do the free trial and cancel before the 10 days are up.

@Michelle -you can put in all your preferences and see the recipes that they come up with for free (but you must pay to get the recipes and shopping list) Sounds like you have a tricky household! Thanks for your comment!

Do you know if they have an RD working for them? I would assume so. I really like this idea, but I feel that it may defer people from seeing a Registered Dietitian 1-on-1. I may just be paranoid, but being a dietitian myself, I have reserves about products/services that can potentially replace RDs.

We've been using a similar service called The 6 O'Clock Scramble. Does plate joy offer kosher and dairy free options as well?

Like everything the diets referenced and menus provided are based on particular points of view/beliefs. So I guess I'd take a look at their intrepretation of specific requirements for special diets before I committed. For example there are several schools of thought regarding diabetes and grains so I wouldn't be so quick to accept "no grains" as a viable option. That said, a lot of these services offer decent options for meal planning. There are also some great ones out there for whole food plant based diets.

This recipe looks great but 18 servings? That's an awful lot even if you do freeze some, right?

Yum! This looks wonderful, Thank you for sharing!

@Amanda - yes, they work with RD's on the recipes. Great question!

@Sara - I LOVE the Six O'Clock scramble. PlateJoy also can be dairy free and kosher. THANKS!

Just signed up - I LOVE that they have a Whole 30 option. I do Whole 30 once or twice a year and the hardest thing for me ALWAYS is that I lack (recipe) creativity and get bored eating the same thing so many times, so end up feeling deprived. I created a couple sample menus to make sure I liked the look of the recipes first and was impressed with the variety. Thanks for sharing!
