Vegan Snacks

March 6, 2017   4 Comments

So many people have gone vegan that I thought it would be helpful to put out a list of vegan snacks.

It is far easier to go vegan than it used to be. I remember not even knowing what a "vegan" was.

I met my first vegan in graduate school and I had to ask him to repeat the word. "Vegan", I said, "Is that a form of religion?"

Turns out that I wasn't that far off since he had to practically become a monk to keep to the vegan diet in our small southern BBQ, fried chicken, sweetened iced tea town.

Now, you can find vegan bacon! How about that?

I happen to have many vegan friends now and can even make entire vegan meals. Sometimes you don't want a meal -you just want a snack.

These snack recipes are for those who want to try to keep animal products out of their diet. I eat all of these and love them!

Made the no-bake lemon balls-wow! Everybody in our group of 12 loved them! So much better for us than the "diabetes-in-a-pan" dessert someone else brought, although we ate it up as well😜 Son loves the lemonballs too, is eating paleo so right up his alley! Thx Lisa!

Thank you Lisa for these awesome vegan snacks! I don't know anyone who wouldn't love these and they make purist vegans, vegetarians and meat-eaters all very happy. I have tried pescatarian lifestyle but lasted about 6 months then my upbringing kicked in and I had cravings for meat. So I caved. I do, however, find it very easy now to eat considerably less meat, smaller portions and thus higher quality meat which I think is healthier.

These lemon balls look yummy and I've been craving desserts lately so I'm going to finally give them go.

Hey has anyone else learned that Cuisinart has a recall on the S-Blade? Check it out. I have a new blade being shipped to me. My food processor was about 5 yrs old.

@BarbL - THANKS! my Cuisinart is also part of the recall. You are the best!

Black beans are such a fun, nontraditional snack idea!
