A Holiday Card For You – My Dear Readers

I would like to share a short story about someone who has changed my life.

No one has time for a long story today so I will not go on and on.
This is a photo of my mantle. We are big fans of Santa here and get the house ready for his visit. I have 2 children – 10 and 12 – and they are SO good right now. They take this Christmas business very seriously.
But, I don’t want to talk about my kids today. As you pan down from the mantle, you find this animal.

My dog, Milo, loves to sleep in front of the fire. Every time I walk by, I marvel at his ability to relax. He will jump around – demanding that you toss his favorite toy – and then five minutes later he is crashed out in total relaxation on top of a blanket.
Last week, I was feeling tired before my daughter came home from school and I decided to sit on the couch for a few minutes. Milo jumped up next to me and proceeded to curl up and fall asleep. The next thing I knew, my daughter was walking in the door waking me up.
He tuned me into the depth of my exhaustion but he also helped me get some rest.
I don’t know how to explain it but he helps me see that life isn’t always a race. Sometimes you can stop and curl up in front of the fire.
This holiday season, take a moment and curl up somewhere (without a screen or even a book). Enjoy your breath and heart beat.
Lots of light and love,
Lisa AKA Snack Girl and Milo
