Time for Some Changes
December 29, 2019 35 Comments
It is time for some changes and some goals. Don’t worry! You got this!
Last year, I posted Time for Some Changes 2019 - and received 61 responses from people who wanted to declare their goals for the year.
Were you one of them?
Go to the post and check if you wrote something. If you didn’t, this is your year. Declaring your goals in a public forum is a great way to accept that there are things that you want to do better.
I like the idea of starting fresh every year and thinking about how I might challenge myself. This was my list from 2019:
- Enjoy my 50th birthday
- Eat more fruits/vegetables every day.
- Do a better job taking care of myself.
- One 10K and THREE sprint triathlons (sounds exhausting)
- Finally become a little fluent in Spanish
I tried to do all of these and was more successful with some goals than others. I did enjoy my birthday and managed to complete a 10K and three sprint triathlons. I took a Spanish class and crossed into the land of understanding a bit more (and butchering the language when I speak but I try hard to communicate).
More fruits and veggies? A constant battle and I continue to work on it. As for taking care of myself - yes, I did a better job because I had to do a better job.
I don’t want to go into all of the particulars but I ended up having two abdominal surgeries this year. I had an appendectomy and a hysterectomy. Those health challenges were not on my list of goals for 2019 and came as a major surprise (and not a good surprise like Brad Pitt jumping out of a cake).
BUT, this post is about moving forward - not ruminating on the past.
Here is my list for 2020:
- Be more patient
- One sprint triathlon
- Enjoy my kids more
- Eat more fruits and vegetables
- Less screen time and more friends & family time
What I want you to do is to type in your resolution or resolutions in the comment section below.
