I find this ironic. Every time I go to Panera (it's the only "fast food" I allow myself and only on road trips) and order a sandwich, I always choose no side (too many times the apples were bruised/stale). EVERY SINGLE TIME they give me a hard time. I get some variation of "It's included in the price!" and I have to explain that a sandwich is more than enough for me. I feel like they're pushing extra food on me, which certainly isn't the "healthy option".

I love Panera but I agree that you need to be careful in your selections even there. A couple of years ago while traveling I stopped for lunch at one of the "casual" dining places. Looking over a decidedly unhealthy menu, I chose an option described as one-half a turkey breast sandwich and a cup of soup. It came on a plate with a mound of french fries that I could not have covered with my open hand. I hate wasting food but made the waiter take the fries away. Do people really eat 1000 calorie lunches?

I don't like that Panera makes you register to play the game.

@Sandra

I wouldn't have even minded that but when I went to register it was asking me to purchase some sort of card? I just said forget that and decided it wasn't worth it.
