Frozen Yogurt Bark for A Hot Day

June 8, 2015   7 Comments

Looking for a fun activity to keep children occupied? Get them to make some yogurt bark.

Strawberry Yogurt Bark

This is SO easy that my 8 year old can do it while I am outside on my lawn chair catching rays (or mowing the lawn most likely).

All you do is spread 2 five ounce containers of sweet Greek yogurt on a piece of parchment paper and add some fruit. See here:

I was super boring and used strawberry yogurt and added strawberries. How did I get this job? I am sure that you could come up with something much more creative.

This should be eaten in a bowl because it melts fast – but it is almost like frozen yogurt and much more fun because you do-it-yourself.

What combinations would you come up with?

Good Idea Snack Girl!!! I would also do blueberries and even peach.Maybe even mango. the ideas are endless.

Another fun thing to do with the yogurt would be to pop the pan in the oven at a low temperature and dehydrate it until it's similar to a fruit roll up. (you could also use a dehydrator if you have the solid rack)

This recipe is cool in more ways than one! :)

Fun! And I appreciate your post to add small amount of jam to plain yogurt. I never thought of that! I get so angry in the yogurt isle reading all the sugar and additives. Snack Girl you rock!

I'm looking at that picture and wondering how some chopped basil or mint would taste added in. And then there's always mini chocolate chips :-)

YUM! We love to freeze yogurt cups and eat it out of the cup. We have never tried the bark method! My kids like to take a banana, cut it into three chunks, stick a popsicle stick in each one and dip them in yogurt and freeze them. I think they'd love the bark!

michelle I have a dehydrate dish for the microwave thatI use to make tortilla chips and also to dehydrate some fruit. I just might try your idea for the yougurt.
