One Minute Waffle Iron Baked Apples

February 28, 2016   9 Comments

Are you ever looking for a treat which takes a minute and involves almost zero prep?

Waffle Baked Apples

Look no farther. Your 6 year old can “cook” with this recipe. Simply slice apples thinly, shove them in a waffle iron, wait a minute – and voila!

These should be eaten immediately because they are very tasty hot off the griddle.

Add some cinnamon (or sugar if you want more of a treat) and you will feel like you are eating INSTANT apple pie.

A word about my waffle iron (see below) – I have had it for about 3 years and it is absolutely wonderful. I upgraded from a $10 waffle maker that I had bought at Walgreens and I am glad that I did. The best part is that it has a timer so you know how long you are cooking your waffles.

Let me know if you try this!

This looks like a perfect activity/snack for a kids' tea party. And would probably be great, even with winter apples that aren't so crisp anymore. Thank you! A good idea to consider a waffle iron upgrade....

I tried putting sliced apples in my air fryer and same thing. It tastes great! Nice snack.

Try slicing an apple, sprinkle cinnamon and Truvia..microwave...Yummers and low cal...

Here in Australia we aren't so big on waffles, but I am following the Always Hungry diet and there is a great waffle recipe, so I invested in one. Cant wait to try this, what an awesome idea! Good to have some more uses for the waffle iron.

I love this idea! I love baked apples and home-made applesauce, so this is right up my alley. Thanks Lisa!

Wow, what a great idea!

wow! I love baked apples and if it is baked at home than it is awesome, so this is right up and air fryer is also the best idea for this baked apple so I loved this and I will try this as soon as possible

I am sitting here looking at a baske of peaches ... why not? or pears?

I made these and they were delicious but they left my waffle irons a sticky, icky mess. Have you had this problem at all, Lisa? And yes, I use three waffles irons at a time. Just so much quicker.
