Weight Watchers Simply Filling is a program that allows members to eat anything they want from a specific food list. As of November 1st, 2018, WW is ending the program.

Why are the ending it? What is going to happen to the members who are currently using it?

As I discussed in Why You Can’t Choose Your Favorite Weight Watchers Program, WW is determined to make changes to make the program better for EVERYONE. Does that mean you? I’m not sure.

If you loved Simply Filling this is their answer to your question about why they ended it from WW corporate:

WW Freestyle’s success and proven results have eliminated the need for the Simply Filling option, which is used by a small percentage of our members. In many ways, Simply Filling provided freedom and flexibility, with no-count, no-measure foods that form the foundation of a healthy eating pattern. WW Freestyle refined this approach and validated that it delivered outstanding results on and off the scale - not only weight loss, but increases in stamina and flexibility, decreases in hunger and food craving, and improved quality of life such as better sleep and more happiness.

As we look to leverage the great success of WW Freestyle, we are confident that now is the time to bring our members onto the WW Freestyle program. As a result, we will no longer be offering Simply Filling materials in WW Studios or in the WW app, or online as of Thursday, November 1. At this time, the ability to select the Simply Filling option under Food Settings will be disabled in the WW app and online, and members who had selected Simply Filling will automatically be transitioned to WW Freestyle.

So, basically WW Freestyle is like Simply Filling but with points. I can see why they made this change but I know that there are a bunch of members who have found much success with Simply Filling.

Many members will start with Simply Filling as a way to detox from all the food (and crappy food) that they need to stop eating. Then, they moved into bringing back treats as they got it together.

Uck! Are you kidding you keep changing, CHANGING!I.hate so many changes,nor do I like your new program. So disappointed in freestyle!I keep gaining weight.😕

Do you mean Nov 1, 2018 ? Throughout this article you say Nov 1, 2019, which is a whole year away and not on a Thursday.

Do not like the new programs, was very happy with Simply Filling and will probably do it on my own. Freestyle, which I did try for a few weeks, was not very successful and did not lose much at all. Recently cancelled entire membership.

I love Simply Filling and made Lifetime by staying on it. I was so shocked when I found out WW had decided,without giving the members a heads up, they were dropping it. Even did a chat on line with WW which was useless. Was not even sure the person I chatted with was even a Lifetime member. I said how disappointed I was thinking about dropping WW. She didn’t encourage me to stay and acted like she could care less. I am going to stay on SF and track non SF food. I don’t care if WW like it or not.

Very disappointing.

I lost quite a bit of weight, (60#) on simply filling and enjoyed creating my own “clean eating” recipes out of all green circle foods. The counting technique feels punitive for good foods especially good carbs. For some people, including me, this can psychologically make it difficult to stay on plan. Group leaders often were condescending and not understanding when I would share my successes on simply filling saying things like, “you have to watch not to let your tummy get too full”. Tummy? What am I, 5 years old? I had great success and control on that program and many failures and restarts with counting. The changes and the group leaders’ unfamiliarity with the program and negative comments have convinced me it’s time to say goodbye to weight watchers.

I just rejoined and was unhappy to hear Simply Filling is gone. I too had great success with it early last year. I spoke with my new leader after the meeting and she simply encouraged me to do whatever works for me so I pulled out my old materials (thankfully I still had the simply filling list!) and will continue back on that program. Maybe if enough people complain they will bring it back when they rebrand again - which no doubt will be the end of the year like they always do anyway! Good luck everyone!

I just rejoined today.So bummed. I loved Simply Filling. It is easy and I can do it with my family on the go. I liked the option of having a bowl of cereal if I am in a rush. Freestyle is not the same as Simply Filling. Many of the good carbs from Simply Filling have high points on FS. I don't like many of the zero point foods on FS. I will need to get out my old SF info :)

I am still doing Simply Filling and plan to stay on it forever. It is ridiculous to do away with something that works and is simple--they should do away with the points crap. I have lost over 50 # since last Feb. So anyone who still wants to do it, can do it, without the support of WW. I still subscribe and I still look over the site and the recipes and track my weight, etc.

I followed simple start for years and maintained 65lbs lost. Tried the new free style,(100% commetited) and I have been gaining! I could not figure out what I was doing wrong. Very disappointed with the new program.

oh man... I decided to start back up (since I had been slacking for so long) and was really annoyed that WW made this choice FOR me. I am not a fan of counting points and Simply Filling made it so easy for me to drop some pounds. I'm going to just try to do it on my own and might as well stop paying WW that monthly fee. I started Weight Watchers again, I used simply filling To help with weight loss in the past, now it isn’t available . It worked great. When I traveled I would stay on simply filling. I don’t like this new program.

Bring Simply Filling Back Please

I have tried Freestyle for the past 3 months. Not happy with this program. I loved Sumply Filling. I had great success with it. I am no longer doing FS. I will go back to Simoly Filling. There should be a choice if either on the program. What is good for one is not good for another. I hate counting points. Sumply filling is livable in the long haul.

Is there an app out there where I can track non simply filling points? I'm on the new plan and am very disappointed with my results. Thanks for any help you can offer.

I am so in agreement with everyone. Simply Filling was the best they ever offered. When I finally decided to go back to Weight Watchers I was disappointed to find out they discontinued it... don't get, why do away with a program that works. The heck with them, I am following Simply Filling on my own.

The apps that I had are no longer working. If you go to Pinterest and search Simply Filling you will be able to find some recipes.

I guess what I'm asking is when I eat something that's not on the list, can I just use my old WW smart point books to count what the point value would be? I'm trying to remember how I counted those non list points. And I think we only had an extra 6 per day if I remember correctly.

I did Simply Filling several years ago and had pretty good success with it. I am doing Keto right now and have had really good success with it, but as you know, it gets really BORING with no carbs. Anyhow, the main reason I started looking up Simply Filling again was for my eight-year-old granddaughter who is overweight. I thought it would be a good healthy option for my whole family and she wouldn't feel singled out. However, I don't want to use fat-free cheeses and fake butter. How would I count for that and continue using Simply Filling?

Loved Simply Filling. I have never done well with points. Sounds crazy to keep my subscription just to track my weight so I canceled. Can do SF on my own but very disappointed!

I also had major success with simply filling. I think that WW doesn't make money on folks who do simply filling because they are usually not dependant on WW to get through a day of eating while counting points. Just my opinion. It's a bummer but ww is a business, not a community service!!

Always lost on Simply Filling. When I rejoined earlier in the year and found out they discontinue it, I was very disappointed. Lost EXTREMELY slow on the new plan...quit WW a few months later.

Simply Filling was the best. Members should have been given the option of that or Freestyle. Some members like to count points and some, like myself, do not. It was so simple to follow, especially if you like the power foods, and you still get the option of 7 points per day for anything extra you might want. What could be easier? Very unhappy with Weight Watchers (and yes, I still call it that, not WW, which I think is ridiculous).

Hi. Well on 11/11/19 in just two days the new WW program is coming out. I don't know all the details but I have heard we will be given options. 3 different plans and something like the old Simply Filling will be one of them!!😍

Its been an entire year and Weight Watchers please listen to your customers and relaunch Simply Filling AQAP Jan 2020 Please.

The new plan is rolling out tmw! And we will have choices on which plan we want. I heard that one will be for us simply filling peeps!!

I am thrilled if that is true! I still do SF but sure would be nice to have the program back for real for those of us who cannot stand points.

Hi. My app just updated! So they have 3 plans we can choose from. Blue, green or purple. The first two, one is like freestyle now where you get around 23 points and there are appx 200 zero point foods, lean protein, fruits and veggies all free. 2nd is like the smart points, everything has a point value, you get 30 points. The only zero point items are fruits and veggies, so you get 100. And last is purple, this is the one I chose. It's the most similar to Simply Filling. You have a choice of 300 zero point foods, you only get 16 points a day so you are focusing on the purple 0 point foods. All plans you still get weeklies. The plan is called WWMyway. I think I'm finally going to do well again!

Yes it's not called Simply Filling but it's called the Purple plan. I switched when it started yesterday. 300 "free" foods with this plan. Veggies, fruits, lean proteins, brown rice, potatoes, and beans. They made light breads, cereals and milk points now. They do give you 16 points a day to eat only if you want them plus extra weeklies for the week. Out of the 3 it's the closest to SF. I think you'll like it!

I don't know if it is permitted to attach a link, but WW still has the Simply Filling list available for download. It may be preaching to the choir, but perhaps a few readers are wondering what Simply Filling is like.

I am back on Simply Filling after a long hiatus and was looking for motivation, which I found by reading this thread. It is so easy to do on your own.

Starting up weight watchers again with my daughter and was a lifetime member doing simply filling/core program and lost 80 lbs. Now i se things have changed. Those of you on the purple plan are you finding success or should I get my old stuff out and go on my own? :)

I love SF, and was sorry to see it no longer supported, but I would switch back and forth between plans and found that following SF kept me within my points. So, I advise you folks just to continue following SF, and just track your foods. You’ll fond that the points will “take care of themselves.” Make all your food decisions based on the SF list, and your food tracker won’t know the difference. You don’t even need to look at the points.

Weight Watchers would make a boatload of money if they provided online support for every plan since the beginning of the Points programs. It would be so easy for them and people like us might throw some cash their way. Cutting people off from the programs they love is stupid and bad business.

I also noticed that the link to the Simply Filling list that I posted in early 2020 is cold now.
