Aside from being plain old TASTY, my primary reason for loving pistachios is the same as your #2 - you have to work to get at them which means a slower to eat snack, and by the time you're done you can really see how much you've eaten!

i love pistachios because they help me lost weight and i feel like they are helping prevent the return of my cancer, lower my cholesterol, and feel good inside.

We have a huge bowl of them (my husband went to Sam's Club)in the family room, the central location for lounging. He and my boys (and visiting friends) will never fail to grab a handful. I feel kind of sneaky, but it's just one more healthy option for them. I am not a big salt fan, but these definatey have a great flavor of their own and I love them!

Pistachios make great stocking stuffers at Christmas and goodie bag stuffers anytime!

Pistachios rock my world. I buy the large bag at Sam's and then measure out 1/4 cup servings, put them into individual snack bags and store them in the freezer. Portion control is a must!

While kids love pistachios and the snapping of the shells I know that they are also getting nutritional value such as, potassium, folate, protein, magnesium phosphorus, and calcium. Every evening we sit down for the "cocktail hour". 40 pistachios go into the old fashion maple nut bowl for my husband to enjoy while we recap our day, watch a little news, cuss and discuss all sorts of topics and watch the Yankees try to win the wild card race. My love of pistachios goes back a long way. My dad and I would sit on his back patio and eat them. It is a special memory, and followed through to adulthood. I've eaten them colored and plain, raw and salted. I just love their little salty goodness.

OMG Pistachios have been my FAVORITE nut since I was about 5 yrs old and my Grandparents introduced me to Howard Johnson's (remember them? You might be too young), pistachio ice cream. I have eaten pistachios most of my life. My Dad loved them, especially Pistachio Ice Cream. Every time I eat them I think of my Dad. I make a salad for Christmas dinner with orange sections, sliced fennel,radishes, olive oil, lime juice, cilantro and those gorgeous pistachios. I put them out for parties (in the shell). Some people don't bother to take them and that leaves more for me! Oh, and....."Gesundheit, Lisa"!

That COLOR... amazing! I love picking them out of the shells.. it sounds weird but it makes me more mindful when I eat them. I appreciate the flavor much more when I have to "work" a little for them.

I love pistachios too!!! my favorite thing to do is pop them in my mouth and suck all the sweet saltiness off while they are still the shell and then try to crack it, get the nut out and spit out the shell (without my coworkers noticing) without using my hands. This is my favorite nut....a good size, a little salty and great when paired with fruit. Today for breakfast I had some greek yogurt, blueberries and some pistachios I actually chopped in my old style hand crank nut chopper. Sometimes the simplest tool is the best. They also are grey as a stand alone snack and if you do WW only 2 P+ for 15 grams of the shelled ones. Love them!

Because they are delish, of course.....and low in calories compared to other nuts....versatile in cooking. I love a pallard of chicken dusted with pistachios,flour, and seasonings which you lightly sautee in a non stick pan with a hint of oil. I mean a hint as the chicken is thin and just a brown is enough....lastly, reminds my hubby and me when we were first dating as teenagers. In those days they were only sold red! We would buy a pound and take them to the movies instead of buying pop corn. When the movie let out, we would laugh at our fingers which were bright red.Think they came from Iran in those days. Now, California is the new hub!

Pistachios have always been a favorite in my house, especially even during family movie nights. Planning to put some in school and work lunches, plus snacks before sports practice.

I had my first pistachios while visiting Arizona in 1955. I've been hooked ever since.

I love pistachios! They are a family favorite, starting from when my Dad would get them when I was a child. Now I buy them for my Granddaughter and when she was 2 she would ask for "butts" and we had no clue what she wanted until she pointed to the pistachio 'nuts'! LOL Gotta love how babies hear things! :)

Danger Snack Girl. Salt and Pepper pistachios can be very addicting. I have never had friends offer me more than 3 or 4 and you never find a half eaten bag of them.

I love pistachios because they are a perfect healthy snack when you are on the go. They fit in small lunch containers, and they taste so good!

Just found your website and (this is the truth), I was just eating the last 2 pistachios from a bag of roasted & salted. I keep them in my pantry for times when I'm craving salty. I will definitely try the sweet chili! Love, love, love pistachios.

Pistachios are the only nuts that both of my daughters and I all eat, so they're the perfect snack!

Nuts that are green and delicious!!

Pistachios has always been one of my favorite nuts, probably above almonds. Sadly, pistachio tends to be more expensive too which is the only reason I don't eat it more. x__x the taste is seriously amazing, it's got this buttery-ness to it that I don't detect in almonds, and after the initial crunch, it's like it melts in your mouth (in a good way). It's not so rich like cashews that after a few i'm starting to feel queasy, yet it's still rich tasting. I'm kind of shocked that 30 of them is only 100 calories (23 almonds is 100 calories, so pistachio has less calories?? woah!) sadly, I definitely have a more difficult time trying to stop eating pistachio than any other nut LOL.
