Frozen Salmon in Air Fryer: A Fast Dinner

Could I leave you without a reason to read on? No! I include a seafood rub recipe that brightens even the dullest frozen tilapia.

This post is a two-fer.

Why use the air fryer to cook frozen salmon? I think it is far better than to crank up your whole oven to cook a little fish. The air fryer essentially roasts the fish and makes it easy to serve dinner quickly.

I also think air fryers are fun. Which shows you that I don’t get out much.

If you forget to take your salmon out of the freezer -no big deal. The air fryer can work with frozen fish.

I start with my frozen salmon in the air fryer basket skin side up. When it has thawed a bit - I flip it over

While it is thawing, I make a seafood rub. This rub recipe is for 1/2 cup which will last you a long time. Use it for fish on the grill, in the oven, or air fryer.

I store it in a tightly sealed Mason jar.

The idea is to brighten up the flavor a bit. Plain salmon can get a bit dull if you eat a lot of it. Making your own seafood rub allows you to get it the way you want it. I also find that mine is higher quality than the ones that I buy (though those can be great).

Serve the air fryer salmon with a side salad, bread, a slice of lemon and you have the fastest dinner ever. Honestly, take out cannot compete and there is hardly anything to clean. My air fryer washes up fast!

Have you tried frozen salmon in the air fryer? What is your favorite dinner recipe for the air fryer?

Would you please say what air fryer you use & what size?

Thank you!😊

@Amy - I used a Cosori - 3.7 quart air fryer. Here is my post on it: https://snack-girl.com/snack/cosori-air-fryer-review/

Thanks for your question!!

I never would have know to make salmon this way in an air fryer. A dear friend gifted me with one and this will be my inaugural recipe for it. The rub sounds delicious. Thanks!

Tried this tonight and it was delicious. Next time I might cut back on a little of the salt in the rub, but this is definitely a keeper!
