Top Ten Snack Girl Recipes of 2017

It is the time of year where I take a look back at what was successful.

Top Ten Snack Girl Recipes of 2017

My job is to promote fruit, vegetables, lean meats, and whole grains. That is really all there is to it. If I can convert someone from a broccoli hater to a broccoli lover – then I have succeeded beyond my wildest dreams.

This year, I added videos to the toolbox in an effort to inspire more people to try my recipes. I don’t know if it worked but I do know that Snack Girl had 3 MILLION page views last year so at least people are showing up.

The recipes below are the ones that people viewed the most. Some of them are my old favorites that I added a video to – such as the number one recipe of the year – Roasted Summer Squash. I do hope that more people ate squash this summer. It is a really simple and delicious recipe.

I delved more into the slow cooker and those recipes were quite successful. As we enter winter, take a fresh look at them and make yourself a pot full of warm goodness.

Thanks for reading and coming back!!

Huh. None of these would have been my favorites! I don't bother making soup. There are so many great and easy choices in cans. (Yes, you need to make good choices). I don't buy "odd" (probably only odd to me) spices that I'll use for one dish only... so that eliminates any curry dish. I never drink smoothies. I know some people like them, but I never drink my calories. I have to chew them to be satisfied. I don't like summer squash. I love winter squash though! I don't own an Instant Pot. I seldom drag out my food processor. I'd never spend that much time making oatmeal. I'll use instant Sheesh! I guess I simply don't like to cook! Revelation! ha!

Thank you, Snack Girl! I’ve tried a few of these with great results. I’m going to try the slow cooker ones this week. Slow cookers are wonderful during this busy time of the year!

My Snack-Girl faves include: Tuesday Tacos, Baked Oatmeal (I make into muffins),

Turkey Chili (I added Penzey's Tsardust Memories seasoning), Healthy Apple Crisp, pickled hard boiled eggs, and cranberry relish (sent me on a spin of creating my own recipe that is fun to play with each year). Looking forward to lots of egg and chicken (and other 0 WWpt ingredient) recipes. Love the commentary on Weight Watchers and random food products reviews AND the ideas and links from other readers! Thank you, thank you Snack Girl!

Thanks for sharing Pam! Such a positive and inspiring note.

I'm anxious to make many of these recipes. Being diabetic these will do well in my diet. I don't think I'll make the Black Beans since these don't agree with either my husband or me. Thanks for a great year of recipes and looking for more in 2018. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all

Love this Lisa! Keep at it. I’m making the chili for sure.

Would like to know more how to bake a healthy oatmeal bar or muffins. #7
