Easy Vegan Snacks

It is far easier to go vegan than it used to be. I remember not even knowing what a "vegan" was.

I met my first vegan in graduate school and I had to ask him to repeat the word. "Vegan", I said, "Is that a form of religion?"

Turns out that I wasn't that far off since he had to practically become a monk to keep to the vegan diet in our small southern BBQ, fried chicken, sweetened iced tea town.

Now, you can find vegan bacon! How about that?

This snack recipes are for those who want to try to keep animal products out of their diet. I eat all of these and love them!

So glad to see you highlight vegan food. I started living a vegan lifestyle at the beginning of last year after reading "How Not to Die" by Dr. Michael Greger. It has been hard, especially while traveling, and I admit to being the opportunistic vegetarian (i.e. at airports, when there are no other choices but those that include dairy), but it has been a good journey so far. I would love to see more recipes that show that vegan cooking isn't horrible or boring. Having an InstantPot has been very helpful, too!

Glad to see you are featuring vegan meals to show that our food is not boring and that you can do a ton with plant-based foods! I do not find it difficult to follow a plant-based diet, as I do most of my own cooking and buy very few processed foods (you just have to read the labels!). People always ask me what I "can" eat, which I find so silly (like it's a punishment or something)--I can eat whatever I want; I choose not to eat meat or dairy and I choose to eat tons of other things--lots of vegetables, fruits, beans, and whole grains.

My son-in-law turned vegan about 4 years ago for health purposes. I must say a lot of the things he cooks is quite tasty. he doesn't even use oil he is to the extremeof it and is doing quite well. I tried for about 5 weeks and actually lost 12 pounds when I did a vegan diet. I actually might go back but not to the extreme he is. I do have a InstantPot and love it..

Thanks for showcasing vegan snacks! It's nice to see animal free ideas on your site. It sometimes gets lonely being vegan in the mainstream world. And the best thing is you don't have to be vegan to enjoy them.

These look delicious! My family hasn't taken the jump to becoming vegans yet, but with food allergies in our family we find ourselves making more and more vegan foods. I love how simple these ideas are. I've also gotten some great tips from Registered Nutritionist Sofia Abdelkafi. She has a great blog and also a fantastic webinar series that's streaming right now that focuses on healthy snack options. Check it out here:
