Healthy Thanksgiving Recipes You Must Make

Healthy Thanksgiving recipes are just as easy to make as the unhealthy ones.

Healthy Thanksgiving Recipes

It is really about omitting certain ingredients - right? Instead of sweet potatoes with marshmallows do a roasted butternut squash without marshmallows.

No need to pour a stick of butter on your turkey to keep it moist if you have an oven bag!

You can roast your green beans or saute them without adding cream of mushroom soup and deep fried onions - I know you can do it!!

Hey, I get that Thanksgiving has these “family favorites” that every one looks forward to but you can change that over time. People forget about green bean casserole when they taste balsamic roasted green beans. Trust me!

Where things get truly sticky is desserts. Thanksgiving without pecan pie!! Pecan pie is one of the most calorie filled confections on the planet. I love it - but I never have it because two members of my family are allergic to pecans.

Pretend that you have developed a nut allergy - problem solved.

I am just kidding. If you love it, then have it. Thanksgiving is a celebration and I have no intention of saying that any of the food that we eat is is bad.

I try to keep my portion sizes under control so I don’t get a stomach ache. I use a small salad plate and slowly munch my way through the big meal. One year, I over did it and had to lie down. Ever since that embarrassing event, I have kept it together and not ate myself into a painful situation.

If you are looking for some healthy Thanksgiving recipes to round out your meal - check these out. You never know - you might like them more than the classics.

I really love sweet potatoes and must have them on Thanksgiving! To make them special on a holiday, lightly sprinkle them with brown sugar. That’s all. We can make whatever substitutions we need to. I will have my sweet potatoes with just a touch of sugar on Thanksgiving! I do love the other side dish ideas! Thank you!

So glad to see these healthy and plant-based alternatives. This Thanksgiving Bean Queen is looking forward to trying this new bean alternative. So thankful for your site. You are so informative and have a great sense of humor. God bless you!

Great cranberry recipe; looks easy! After paying $2.oo for a can of sauce, will definitely make a homemade version. I use leftover cranberry sauce to make a quick bread! Hope you all have a wonderful holiday season. PS- overloading on Latkes! That's my addiction!!!!

Adding the mushroom dressing to our menu this year. Thank You!

It's once a year!!!! Why not indulge??

Keep the great recipes coming Snackie!! Will be using to bring to the local Moose Lodge for our local Thanksgiving "orphans" and those without families. Thank you!

This is so useful! Thank you, Lisa!

I have been making homemade cranberry sauce for years. I buy extra bags of the cranberries, freeze them and make them during the year. I even like to put the cranberries on toast, sometimes with peanut butter.

Now if I only had a double oven! No one enjoys soggy veggies
